For the convenience of Malta visa applicants in the Maldives, the High Commission of Malta in India, and VFS Global, the world’s largest visa outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions worldwide, inaugurated a new Malta Visa Application Centre in Malé on November 16, 2023.
The inauguration was done by H E. Reuben Gauci, Malta High Commissioner to India, and Naveen Nara, Senior General Manager – Schengen Operations (New Delhi), VFS Global. The High Commission of Malta in India has territorial jurisdiction over India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and the Maldives.
Applicants in the Maldives can now visit the newly opened centre located at H. Beach Tower, First Floor, Boduthakurufaanu Magu to submit applications for all Malta visa categories by either booking a prior appointment through the VFS Global website or just walking in to the centre with the required documents as per the checklist. The new spacious Malta Visa Application Centre is equipped with modern amenities and services will offer applicants with a more comfortable and relaxed visa application submission experience.
H.E. Reuben Gauci, Malta High Commissioner to India, said, “Till now, applicants in the Maldives had to fly to New Delhi (India) to apply for their Malta visa. This new centre in Malé will help in saving their time and cost of travel to India, along with offering them high-quality service through a seamless visa application submission process. The establishment of this new centre in Malé is an important step in the strategy to further develop tourism sector in Malta.”

VFS Global’s role in the visa application process is limited to front-end administrative tasks only, which include collecting visa application forms, required documentation as per the checklist, and enrol biometrics, if applicable. VFS Global has no role in the decision-making process of granting or refusing a visa.
