The Uttarakhand government has further relaxed its travel restrictions in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, announcing that fully vaccinated flyers can enter the state without getting the earlier-mandatory negative RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen test reports.

“If passengers coming by air have got both the vaccine doses, then they will be allowed to come to the state without negative RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen test report,” Uttarakhand Minister Subodh Uniyal told news agency ANI on Monday.

The new relaxation comes amid some more relaxations permitted by the state government after it extended the Covid-19 curfew till July 27.

As per the new relaxations, people of Uttarakhand do not need to carry RT-PCR or Rapid Antigen Test negative reports anymore in order to travel within the state.

Multiplexes and water parks too can operate now, albeit with 50 per cent occupancy.

“The mandatory RT-PCR antigen or rapid test for moving from plain to hilly districts in the state has been done away with. People of the state can now move freely in the state. Also, shops would now be allowed to open from 8 am to 9 pm against the previous timing of 8 am to 7 pm,” Uniyal said.
