The Indian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has issued an advisory urging Indian passengers travelling to or transiting through Dubai International Airport to reschedule non-essential travel until operations return to normal. This advisory comes in the wake of severe flooding in Dubai and surrounding areas due to unprecedented rains.

It said that the situation continues to remain unprecedented, however, added that the UAE authorities are working round the clock to ensure the normalisation of operations.

“The Airport Authorities have advised that passengers may travel to the Airport ONLY AFTER final confirmation from the respective airlines regarding the departure date and time of the respective flights. In light of the above advisory, inbound Indian passengers travelling to or transiting through Dubai International Airport are advised to reschedule non-essential travel till operations normalise,” the advisory read.

Dubai International Airport, known as the world’s busiest for international travel, aims to resume normal schedules within 24 hours. The advisory advises Indian passengers to confirm flight schedules directly with airlines before travelling to the airport.

The Consulate General of India in Dubai has established emergency helpline numbers to assist Indian nationals affected by the disruptions at the airport. These helplines have been operational since April 17.

Helpline Numbers: +971501205172, +971569950590, +971507347676, +971585754213
