Sachin Kurve, Secretary, Tourism and CEO, UTDB, hailed this moment as a pioneering initiative to promote tourism in the remote areas of the State, thereby creating employment opportunities for the local population. He further stated that through this novel tourism product, the State envisions to promote ‘High Value Low Volume’ tourism in the area, also aligning with the Government of India’s Vibrant Village Program (VVP). This new tourism initiative is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of local population by fostering sustainable livelihood opportunities. The helicopter operations will promote tourism in the region during the winter months coinciding with the observed transhumance phenomenon in the valley. This visionary project represents the Government’s unwavering commitment to providing accessibility and economic empowerment to the inhabitants of this majestic Himalayan region during the winter season, while simultaneously promoting Aero tourism in the State.

A 4 Nights/5 Days package is scheduled to commence on April 15, 2024. This package will include overnight stays in Pithoragarh for one night and three nights at Gunji/Nabhi/Nepalchu, with six helicopter rides and transfers by All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). Bookings for this package can be made through triptotemples.com, offering tourists a comprehensive and seamless experience of Uttarakhand’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
