In celebration of its 15th anniversary on April 7, 2024, Rwanda Renaissance, established in Mumbai in 2009, has unveiled plans to promote religious and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. The initiative aims to revive and expand upon the organization’s past endeavours in facilitating transformative journeys to Rwanda, emphasizing religious landmarks and MICE events.

Clarence Fernandes, Chairman, Rwanda Renaissance, expressed the organisation’s commitment to revitalising religious and MICE tourism, despite the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. He highlighted the impact of the pandemic on group activities, citing a significant halt in operations. He said, “We have taken many groups of religious and MICE tourists to Visit Rwanda in the past. Activities came to a grinding halt during COVID and the lockdown. Our single largest group consisted of 57 delegates, was in September 2017 and as many as 47 persons from this group were traveling exclusively to the Holy Land of Kibeho.”

Fernandes underscored the close collaboration with RwandAir. “We work closely with RwandAir which provides the fastest and most efficient way to travel to the spotlessly clean capital city of Kigali,” he added.

The country, often called the “land of a thousand hills and a million smiles,” aims to provide a welcoming environment for visitors seeking religious experiences and engaging in MICE activities.

Rwanda offers visitors a hassle-free Visa on Arrival.
