IndSri Ferry Service has announced further delays in the commencement of passenger ferry services scheduled to operate between Kankesanthurai in Sri Lanka and Nagapattinam in India, citing delays in the delivery of the ferry and unavoidable compliance requirements.
In a press statement issued on Sunday, Niranjan Nandagopan, Managing Director of IndSri Ferry Services, stated that the service, originally slated to resume on May 13, will now commence on May 17. The passenger vessel named ‘Sivagangai’ is scheduled to initiate ferry operations on the revised date.
Despite the setback, the company expressed confidence that all necessary legal compliance requirement certificates will be obtained in due time to ensure the smooth commencement of services on May 17.
Passengers who have made bookings for journeys between May 13 and 16 will have their trips automatically rescheduled to May 17. Alternatively, they have the option to rebook their travel for any date after May 17, 2024.
For customers who wish to cancel their tickets, the company has requested them to send an email to [email protected]. Full refunds will be promptly arranged upon receipt of cancellation requests.
