IATO Old Delhi Heritage Walk

The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) organised an Old Delhi Heritage and Food Walk on April 07, 2024, to showcase to its members the rich heritage and culture of Old Delhi, dating back to the Mughal Empire and British colonial era, while also indulging in the delectable delicacies the area has to offer.

The event was led by the IATO Sports, Recreation, and Culture Committee, led by Sanjay Razdan, Hony. Secretary and EC Liaison, along with Ravi Shankar Singh, Convener of the committee, and supported by committee members including Sunil Mishra, Harish Mathur, P. Vijayasarathy, and Deepak Manwani. The walk was expertly conducted by Sudhir Joshi and Nishta Joshi of Walkathon Tours.

50 members of IATO participated in the Heritage Walk, divided into two groups. Commencing from Jama Mosque gate no. 3, the journey traversed through the narrow lanes of Kinari Bazaar, Chandni Chowk, and Sis Ganj Gurudwara, culminating at Town Hall before concluding at Khari Bawli spice market. To ensure convenience, e-rickshaws were arranged for the return journey to Jama Masjid.

En-route members enjoyed old Delhi delicacies like Samosa Jalebi at the famous Jalebi Wala, Bedmi Poori, Choley with Lassi at the famous Shiv Mishtan Bandar, Choley Bhatoore and Rabri Falooda at Gianis as per their choice.

The members expressed immense delight and satisfaction, thoroughly enjoying the heritage walk and relishing the desi delicacies.
