Travellers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are now exempted from pre-departure RTPCR test if they have received both doses of COVID-19 vaccines in India, Air India Express said in a statement on Saturday.

The new guidelines are applicable to only those passengers who are travelling from UAE and have completed the primary course of vaccination in India. The UAE was not on India’s list of countries exempted from pre-departure Covid-19 testing.

“Passengers who have completed the full vaccination schedule of both doses in India are exempted from RT-PCR testing prior to departure from travel to India from UAE,” the airlines said.

Essentially, this relaxation benefits visitors from India to the UAE on their return trip.

Passengers should upload their Covid-19 vaccination certificate issued in India on the Air Suvidha portal prior to their departure flight.

All other passengers who have not received both doses of Covid-19 vaccine must carry a negative RT-PCR report not older than 72 hours and also upload it on the Air Suvidha portal Air India, Air India specified.
