Malaysia’s newest and largest integrated destination, Desaru Coast Destination Resort (Desaru Coast) has announced its largest incentives package ringing in at a total of INR 12 million to entice Indian travellers, event planners, and organisations to its pristine, idyllic coastal resort.

India is a key and coveted source market in all categories for Desaru Coast. Returning to SATTE for the fourth time, the destination is offering the following incentives to cover key Indian market segments:

For the leisure market, Desaru Coast is introducing its popular luxury stay packages at affordable prices starting at approximately INR 6,600 per person. Packages include hotel stays and selected Desaru Coast experiences as a special value-add. Further to that, guests can purchase Adventure Waterpark tickets, the largest water park in Asia, with every room purchased at the destination. The total incentive offered to the leisure market amounts to INR 5 million.

For the MICE segment, under its signature MICE Reinvented, the destination will be offering incentives valued up to INR 2.1 million for events and groups. For every group booking, Desaru Coast is offering an incentive of INR 1100 per person for the Gala Dinner. Additionally, the destination will provide complimentary pocket show activities and cultural shows for the gala dinner.

To attract Indian weddings, an INR 4.4 million incentive will be presented to the first five weddings booked at the destination, which translates to approximately INR 880,000 per wedding. Incentives can be redeemed in areas of connectivity, themed receptions and wedding photography packages among others.

“The importance of the India market is undeniable for us at Desaru Coast. This is our fourth time presenting at SATTE and this year, we come as a fully operational destination resort with all six world-class resorts and attractions and connectivity infrastructure – the Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal, completed. Our priority now is to re-engage and reintroduce our destination to our Indian partners. We are here to demonstrate Desaru Coast’s diverse offerings, infrastructure and readiness to welcome more Indian travellers to our destination.

“At the same time, we are delighted to announce our biggest incentive package valued up to INR12 million to capture the much-desired Indian market. Our incentives cut across all segments; leisure travellers, MICE groups of all sizes as well as the Indian wedding segment,” said Roslina Arbak, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Desaru Development Holdings One Sdn Bhd (DH1).

Aside from announcing its competitive stimulus offerings, Desaru Coast also introduced its newly launched MICE Reinvented programme to Indian trade practitioners. Arbak added, “We are confident that our new signature MICE Reinvented – bespoke, experiential and authentic events will bode well with Indian planners.

Leveraging our portfolio of assets as an international destination in the world where people seek inspiration, rejuvenation and reconnections, Desaru Coast has reimagined all possible spaces and experiences across the destination to offer a multitude of integrated indoor and outdoor activities. Future MICE at Desaru Coast can be designed with an enchanting mix of indoor and outdoor experiences to include all five-star facilities along with curated activities at the beach, forest, mangroves, local villages, golf courses, ballrooms and conference centre. The Indian MICE group is primed for these unique events.”
