Contiki, the global travel brand catering to 18-35-year-olds, is making waves in the travel industry with the introduction of its groundbreaking underwater trip, ‘Underwater Quest.’

‘Underwater Quest’ gives travellers the unique opportunity to explore the depths of the seven seas – Arctic, Atlantic, Indian, Pacific, Mediterranean, Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico – in just one week.

Travellers will board the brand-new, state-of-the-art Sub-Sea Contiki coach in London, before travelling to Dover where the transition from land to sea will begin.

The ‘Sub Sea’ coach is capable of reaching speeds of up to 15 million kilometres per hour, which means travellers can explore the entire Indian Ocean in just half a day!

Activities on the trip include singing lessons with the mer-people, a fortune-telling experience with a descendent of Paul the Octopus, an underwater cooking class, a visit to the Gulf of Mexico’s revered ‘Museum of Sunken Treasures’, the chance to spot the underwater Big 5, a trip to Atlantis National Park (one of the last places on Earth where you can witness the three-headed slime green conger eel in its natural habitat) and much more.

Travellers will have the chance to sleep at the one and only Contiki Special Sea-Stay (known as the Underwater Château) famous for its spellbinding views and all-around laid-back atmosphere. Also included is a one-night stay at DeepDive – known by millennials and Gen-Zs alike as the ‘world’s coolest underwater hostel’ and home to the biggest underwater sauna and steam room in the world (not to mention the world’s only underwater racketball court).

“There’s definitely a gap in the market for a trip like this,” says Natasha Lawrence, Contiki’s Commercial and Product Development Director. “A common complaint from younger demographics is that they’ve generally ‘had enough’ of on-land travel and are keen for something new.

“We’re tremendously pleased to be launching this trip, and can’t wait to light up the ocean floor!”

The one-off departure will hit the seas on April 1st.
