The Board of Directors of the Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has unveiled plans for a groundbreaking addition to the entertainment landscape of Saudi Arabia – the Dragon Ball theme park. Positioned within the expansive Qiddiya City, a mere 40-minute drive from Riyadh, this innovative attraction promises to redefine entertainment standards while offering fans of the iconic anime series an unparalleled experience.

Spanning over half a million square meters, the Dragon Ball theme park is poised to captivate visitors with its immersive journey into the beloved Dragon Ball universe. Designed to cater to anime enthusiasts, families, and entertainment seekers alike, the park will serve as a haven for those seeking to delve into the captivating world of Goku, Vegeta, and their legendary adventures.

Drawing inspiration from the mythical Dragon Balls, the park will feature seven distinctively themed zones, each encapsulating the essence of the series’ most iconic storylines, moments, and characters. From the inception of the original Dragon Ball series to the latest saga, Dragon Ball Super, visitors will embark on a historic journey through the evolution of the franchise.

Visitors to the park can embark on an adventure, immersing themselves in interactive and explorable landmarks inspired by the Dragon Ball sagas, including iconic locations like “Kame House,” “Capsule Corporation,” and “Beerus’ Planet.” This anime-themed park boasts over 30 rides, featuring five groundbreaking attractions that push the boundaries of ride experiences, all accessible to everyone. One of the flagship attractions, situated at the heart of the park, features a rollercoaster that traverses through a towering 70-meter Shenron landmark. Additionally, guests can opt to stay at themed in-park hotels, creating enduring memories with loved ones while savouring exotic cuisines served within towering structures. With so much to explore and experience, a single day at this park will hardly suffice.

The announcement of the theme park follows Qiddiya’s strategic partnership with Toei Animation, Japan’s leading animation company and the original creators of Dragon Ball. This partnership aims to preserve and elevate the Dragon Ball franchise, fulfilling the dreams of fans by bringing the beloved series to life in the real world. The partnership signifies a shared vision between Qiddiya and Toei Animation, paving the way for expanded collaboration and innovation in the realm of entertainment.

Commenting on the launch, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company Abdullah Aldawood said, “We are pleased to be partnering with Toei Animation, bringing their rich legacy of pioneering contributions to the anime industry to Qiddiya City. Dragon Ball theme park is a celebration of the diverse and vibrant world of anime, offering a unique blend of thrills, family-friendly attractions, and immersive entertainment for everyone.

This announcement only marks the beginning of many promising projects. The theme park embraces the City’s power of play philosophy, and solidifies our commitment to provide world-class entertainment, as a global leader in groundbreaking and diverse attractions.”

Studies have highlighted the positive impact of recreational activities on society, bridging cultural divides and bolstering empathy and social cohesion

The unveiling of the Dragon Ball theme park follows the launch of Qiddiya City’s world-first multi-use Gaming and Esports District, the high-tech Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium and Speed Park Track.
