India International Expo 2023 boosts Hospitality and F&B Sectors, shines spotlight on Himachal Pradesh’s Tourism

In an exciting and much-awaited event, the 6th edition of the India International Expo 2023 commenced on August 02, 2023, with a bang, captivating the industry with its grand inauguration. Welcoming more than 20,000 B2B buyers from diverse sectors, including luxury hotels, resorts, homestays, restaurants, cloud kitchens, and other F&B brands, the colossal expo has become a hotspot for sourcing in the Hospitality and F&B domain.

Industry experts have hailed the event as the premier sourcing hub, catering to the ever-evolving needs of the hospitality industry. The expo’s comprehensive showcase of products and services has earned it a reputation as the most sought-after platform for B2B interactions.

Graced by esteemed dignitaries, exhibitors, buyers, media representatives, and hospitality partners, the inauguration event buzzed with enthusiasm. Chief guests took centre stage, adding to the air of anticipation.

Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), delivered an inspiring inaugural address. He emphasised the venue’s significance stating, “This venue, with its 25 lakhs built-up area is the perfect platform for B2B business networking, and fostering fruitful interactions for all important decision-makers.”. He highlighted the role of such venues in promoting economic growth, facilitating business connections, and elevating India’s brand on the global stage. The India Expo Centre and Mart have undoubtedly become instrumental in enhancing cross-industry networking, knowledge sharing, and market expansion.

The expo unveiled Himachal Pradesh as the state in focus, welcoming Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Raghubir Singh Bali, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, and other eminent members of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Board.

Affectionately referring to Himachal Pradesh as “Dev Bhoomi,” Raghubir captivated the audience with his charismatic oration.  Despite the recent unfortunate cloud burst, he reassured everyone that tourism in the state remained thriving and robust. He unveiled upcoming tourism development projects, including the allocation of a significant investment of “Dhai hazaar Crore” for state-of-the-art wellness spas, ice skating rinks, a grand fountain, and an international-scale Safari park with in-house accommodations. His vision is set to attract 5 crore tourists in the near future, a remarkable increase from the current 1.6 crore, as Himachal Pradesh strives to accommodate and entertain a larger audience.

The Chief Minister unveiled the state’s ambitious plan for infrastructural enhancements, including the expansion of the Kangra Aerodrome into a full-sized airport and the construction of a well-equipped Heliport for Heli taxis. He expressed a strong commitment to sustainable practices and eco-tourism, with plans to convert all public buses into electric vehicles to minimise pollution, with specially demarcated green corridors for charging electrical vehicles.

The expo has undoubtedly set the stage for an extraordinary and impactful event, drawing widespread attention from both domestic and international players in the hospitality and F&B industry. The exchange of ideas, innovations, and business collaborations promises to shape the future of this dynamic sector.
