The Chhattisgarh Travel Trade Association (CGTTA) organised a one-day seminar ‘Travel Industry in Chhattisgarh; Past Present and the Road Ahead’ on September 16, 2023, at the Fairway Golf and Lake Resort in Raipur.
The main attraction of the event was the session in which the veterans of the travel industry in Chhattisgarh addressed the audience and shared their experiences of the industry accumulated over the past three decades. Kirti Vyas of Vyas Travels and Bharat Dev of Dev Travels Services were the speakers at the event, which was moderated by Jaspreet Bhatia of Ice Cubes Holidays. Vyas and Dev shared great insights on various best practices and advised the young entrepreneurs not to shy away from struggle and hard work. Dev also highlighted the importance of technology and adopting the best accounting practices in the travel businesses.
This was followed by a presentation of the Fairway Golf and Lake Resort. This 18-hole golf resort is one of the premier destinations for mice and golf tournaments in central India. the resort also boasts 42 well-appointed rooms and state-of-the-art MICE amenities.
This was the first of its kind event to take place in Raipur where almost 50 travel agents from cities like Raipur, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Bhilai, Durg, Jagdalpur, Korba, were present and networked with each other. Representatives of IndiGo and other Indian airlines were also present at the event.
The audience was briefed about the various initiatives taken by CGTTA in the past and also about the upcoming activities which include organising a regional Travel Mart focusing on the requirements of the local travel trade partners.
The new team of CGTTA office bearers was also announced at the seminar. Kapil Jain has been appointed as the President, Satish Bhuwalka has taken over as the Secretary and Hardeep Hora is the Treasurer.
In the last couple of years, CGTTA has emerged as the apex travel trade association of Chhattisgarh and has become the voice of the travel trade professionals of this region.
Ritesh Mundhra, Founder General Secretary of CGTTA informed that CGTTA proposes to organise many such programmes in the near future and will increase its activities and involvement of the local trade partners. He reiterated that CGTTA is looking at increasing its membership without compromising on the norms that have been set to maintain the dignity and quality of the members.
