ETAA North India Committee organises successful educational trip to Vietnam

The ETAA North India committee organised an educational trip to Ho Chi Minh City and Ho Tram in Vietnam from May 24 to 27, 2024. The trip, attended by 26 members, combined cultural exploration, luxury experiences, and insightful industry discussions.

Day 1: Arrival and Exploration

Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, the delegation checked into the luxurious Sofitel Saigon Plaza. The hotel’s elegant French colonial architecture and warm hospitality set the tone for a delightful stay. Following a sumptuous breakfast, the group explored the bustling city, visiting landmarks such as the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, the Central Post Office, the War Remnants Museum, and the Reunification Palace.

Back at the Sofitel Saigon Plaza, members enjoyed a rejuvenating spa session at Le Spa du Metropole. Dinner was a gastronomic experience at Banaras Restaurant, complemented by music and songs performed by the team members.

Day 2: Visit to Ho Tram

The following day, the group travelled to the beach town of Ho Tram, known for its pristine beaches and luxurious resorts. The delegation visited upscale resorts such as Melia Ho Tram and The Grand Ho Tram, experiencing their luxurious accommodations, world-class facilities, and stunning ocean views.

Saurabh Tuteja, Chairperson of ETAA North India, praised the serene beauty and less commercialised status of Ho Tram’s beaches. Deepika Khanna, General Secretary, expressed appreciation for the luxury and ambiance of the resorts. The team enjoyed lunch at Melia Ho Tram and held discussions with General Manager Alvaro Berton.

Punit Bhasin, Senior Vice Chairman, highlighted the entertainment options available at The Grand Ho Tram, including a Las Vegas-style casino and live performances. The group also met with Akshay Moza, Vice President of Commercial at The Grand Ho Tram, to discuss further business opportunities.

Day 3: Exploration and Departure

The final day began with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels, where members explored the intricate network of underground tunnels used during the Vietnam War. Praveen Ghai, Treasurer, and Gaurav Arora, Joint Secretary, emphasised the significance of visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels as part of the trip.

Returning to the city, the group visited the Jade Emperor Pagoda before enjoying a farewell lunch at a local restaurant. The evening at Sofitel Saigon Plaza included a presentation by the Sofitel team, followed by a felicitation ceremony to honour the hotel’s General Manager, Alistar Minty, and Director of Business Development, Ryan Cornelio.

Saurabh Tuteja, along with the ETAA North India leadership team, extended their gratitude to the Sofitel team and local DMC wale.com for their support. Arush Mittal, Alliance Head, expressed intentions for future partnerships.

The trip concluded with a dinner and networking session, reflecting ETAA North India’s commitment to organising valuable networking events and educational trips for their members. The committee looks forward to continuing these efforts in the future.
