Bhutan celebrates 50 years of tourism, announces a special India roadshow from June 17 – 21

Bhutan is commemorating 50 years of tourism with a series of special events. Since 1974, when Bhutan first opened tourism to the world, India has been one of Bhutan’s most significant markets. Bhutan’s tourism department will embark on a four-city roadshow in India with around 20 exhibitors. The roadshow will start in Delhi on June 17, move to Ahmedabad on June 18, Mumbai on June 20, and conclude in Kolkata on June 21.

This exclusive event will provide a platform for travel industry buyers and sellers to engage in fruitful discussions to explore exciting business opportunities and plan unforgettable experiences in Bhutan.

Bhutan has emerged as one of the top destinations for Indian travellers, especially during the summer months. In fact, in May 2024, 19,212 Indian travellers visited Bhutan, a 100% increase over April and May months. Indians are drawn to Bhutan’s rich heritage, spiritual offerings and its breathtaking natural beauty. The 4 city India Road Show has been specially designed to provide a unique opportunity for industry professionals to network, collaborate and expand their business horizons. The road shows will provide an excellent platform to connect with buyers from corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) luxury and leisure segments, opening up new avenues of partnership and growth.

Around 20 Bhutanese exhibitors, including Tour Operators, Hotels and airlines, will take part in the roadshow and showcasing their special offers, packages and promotions. The event will also feature traditional Bhutanese cultural elements. Lucky draws will be held in each city where the prizes will be return flight tickets to Bhutan. Each city event will feature exciting lucky draws, with the grand prize being return flight tickets to Bhutan.
