Winter at Tantora is set to return for another unforgettable year, offering a season packed with immersive experiences, world-class musical performances, and engaging activities for visitors.
Held in AlUla from December 19, 2024, to January 11, 2025, the festival celebrates the region’s cultural heritage, creativity, and natural beauty.
Set against AlUla’s stunning landscape, Winter at Tantora invites visitors to experience this historic region. With a human history tracing back to ancient civilizations, AlUla has long been a cultural crossroads and a sanctuary for travellers.
This year’s festival draws inspiration from the region’s historic past, while highlighting Saudi Arabia’s thriving culture and modern entertainment.
The festival provides a variety of experiences for visitors to enjoy. They can delve into outdoor sets where AlUla’s history is portrayed in an immersive theatre experience. Interactive projections transport them to another world, blurring the lines between spectator and participant.
A highlight of the festival is the Year of the Camel celebration at Sanaam AlUla Night. The event features a concert, camel-inspired culinary treats, traditional Saudi coffee, and dates, and a camel show and parade.
The Tantora Old Town Celebrations will transform AlUla’s Old Town into a vibrant living museum, offering a range of crafts, masterclasses, and storytelling activities. Families and visitors of all ages can engage with AlUla’s cultural traditions through interactive experiences.
Furthermore, a series of Maraya Classical Concerts will captivate the audience. The Maraya venue, the world’s largest mirrored building, will host three classical music shows.
The “In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta” experience guides visitors through AlUla’s Old Town and Oasis, following the path inspired by the legendary explorer Ibn Battuta.
The festival also offers several premium experiences, including the “Wedding Guest Experience”, which highlights Saudi wedding traditions, and through exclusive workshops, visitors can learn the arts of palm leaf weaving, ceramics making, and the preparation of Saudi coffee. Moreover, delicious traditional meals, live music performances, and other cultural activities may be experienced at the festival.
