Vishwas Makhija, Founder & CEO of India Insight Tours, marked the 30-year milestone of his company with the launch of his book Peaks, Paths & Purpose at Museo Camera. The event brought together family members and industry colleagues who have been part of his journey over the years.
Stories from his three-decade journey came alive through banter and rapid-fire questions led by his daughter and sister, with friends joining in, turning it into a room full of shared memories.
From starting as a camp boy in the Himalayas to building a lasting presence in India’s travel industry, the evening reflected a passage shaped as much by people as by the mountains themselves. The book added a quiet, honest layer to that story, capturing how those years have influenced both work and outlook.
What stood out was the sense of community, from early mentors and family to peers and teams who continue to carry the vision forward. There was also a clear nod to the future, with the next generation, especially women, stepping into leadership roles. Much more than a milestone, it felt like a moment to look back with honesty and forward with conviction to give back to the same community that shaped him.
