Vietnam Airlines reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian market with its Kick-Off Sales Event 2026 held in New Delhi, bringing together key travel trade partners, industry stakeholders, and diplomatic representatives.
Hosted at Novotel New Delhi City Centre, the event also coincided with a decade of the India–Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and underscored the strong growth trajectory of the corridor, with Indian visitor arrivals to Vietnam increasing from around 170,000 in 2019 to over 700,000 in the past year.

A significant development at the event was the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with travel partners ixigo and Belair, aimed at strengthening distribution, enhancing connectivity, and deepening engagement with the Indian travel ecosystem.

Tran Thanh Tung, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Vietnam, highlighted the critical role of air connectivity in driving bilateral growth, stating, “Strong air connectivity remains the backbone of our future cooperation, turning Vietnam into a preferred home-away-from-home for Indian families, business travelers, and explorers alike.”
Vineet Gupta, Vice President – Business Development at Aeroprime Group, the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Vietnam Airlines in India, emphasised the importance of trade partnerships in building sustained momentum, noting, “Without our partners, we are just an airline or a GSA. With you, we become a movement. In 2026, Vietnam is no longer just a destination you visit; it is an emotion you fall in love with.”
Shravan Bhalla, Vice President, OTOAI said, “Vietnam is no longer just a destination on a map; it is a magnificent new chapter for Indian tourism. When our travelers return not just with stories, but with a desire to send their friends and family back that is the true measure of a destination’s success.”
