The United States Embassy in India has issued a strong advisory cautioning Indian citizens against overstaying their permitted duration in the U.S., highlighting the severe immigration consequences they may face.
The embassy posted the advisory on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, “If you remain in the United States beyond your authorized period of stay, you could be deported and could face a permanent ban on traveling to the United States in the future.”
The warning follows a renewed immigration enforcement push under the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, which has intensified scrutiny of visa compliance and border controls. Indian nationals planning to travel to the U.S. are urged to strictly adhere to the terms and validity of their visas and to depart the country before the end of their authorized stay.
