A Decade of Building Travel Trade Connections

Since its inception in 2016, TTJ TRAVMART, the flagship travel networking platform of Travel Trade Journal (TTJ), India’s leading B2B travel media publication established in 2010, has emerged as one of the country’s premier B2B travel networking platforms. Over the years, it has organised more than 80 travel trade exhibitions and networking events across India, bringing together travel agents, tour operators, hotels, airlines, tourism boards, and destination management companies to foster business growth and industry collaboration.

Building on this strong foundation, TTJ TRAVMART expanded its footprint internationally with its maiden edition in Malaysia, further extending its commitment to facilitating meaningful business connections across South and Southeast Asia.

The event welcomed over 80 travel buyers from Malaysia and featured 29 exhibitors representing India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan. Throughout the day, participants engaged in productive business meetings, explored new partnerships, and exchanged ideas to strengthen outbound and regional tourism.

Strong Backing from the Industry

The inaugural edition received overwhelming support from the travel fraternity and was attended by several distinguished industry leaders and guests of honour, including Dato Aruldass, President, MITTA; Dato Pardip Kumar Kukreja, Chairman, Paradise Group; Dr Fazil Khan Bin Abdul Kadir, Vice President, MATTA; Hj Mohd Yusof Bin Wadi, Executive Council Member, BUMITRA; Sharuka Wickramaadittiya, Country Manager, Malaysia, SriLankan Airlines; Dato Mumtaz Ali, Secretary, PATA Malaysia; and Dato Sri Vijay, Chairman, the Pahang Chapter.

Reflecting on the success of the event, Ravi Sharma, Editor and Publisher, Travel Trade Journal, said, “TTJ TRAVMART Malaysia 2026 received exceptional support from leading travel associations, including MITTA, MATTA, MCTA, PATA, and BUMITRA, whose encouragement and participation were instrumental in the success of the event. The presence of their senior leadership reaffirmed the relevance of this platform and reflected the collective commitment of key stakeholders across the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors. We extend our sincere gratitude to all our guests of honour, exhibitors, buyers, sponsors, association partners, and media friends for their invaluable support in making this inaugural international edition both memorable and productive.”

Arvind Shukla, Director, TTJ TRAVMART Marketplace, who played a key role in organising the event and coordinating with Malaysian industry associations and authorities, said, “We were truly overwhelmed by the support and cooperation extended by the Malaysian travel fraternity, whose partnership was instrumental in making our debut international edition a resounding success. I would like to sincerely thank all the dignitaries, delegates, industry partners, exhibitors, buyers, and stakeholders for their invaluable contribution. The success of TTJ TRAVMART Malaysia 2026 has strengthened our confidence and reinforces our commitment to taking the TTJ TRAVMART brand to more international destinations in the years ahead.”

Extending Business Beyond the Exhibition Floor

Complementing the physical event was the TTJ TRAVMART Marketplace, the platform’s year-round digital networking ecosystem. Designed to keep exhibitors and buyers connected before, during, and after the event, the marketplace enables travel professionals to exchange enquiries, showcase products, discover new destinations, and cultivate long-term business relationships beyond the exhibition itself.

The digital platform further broadens TTJ TRAVMART’s reach by allowing tourism organisations from around the world to engage with the global travel trade community throughout the year, transforming a one-day networking event into an ongoing business opportunity.

Looking Ahead

Following the successful debut of its international edition, TTJ TRAVMART is poised to explore new global markets while continuing to strengthen cross-border tourism partnerships. Through its growing portfolio of physical events and the TTJ TRAVMART Marketplace, the platform remains committed to fostering meaningful industry connections and creating sustained business opportunities for the travel trade worldwide.
