Tourism Western Australia recently played host to a group of 10 tour operators from India as part of an extensive week-long familiarisation (FAM) tour, to strengthen tourism ties between the two countries and showcase the diverse travel offerings of Western Australia.
The tour offered the delegates an immersive experience, allowing them to discover Perth, premium wine region – Margaret River Region, wander through the lunar-like Pinnacles landscape, discover WA’s oldest wine region – Swan Valley, the historic port city of Fremantle and explore the dreamlike island paradise – Rottnest Island.
The delegates participated in one-on-one meetings and a networking event with local Western Australian tourism operators, providing a platform for meaningful discussions on business prospects and helping the Indian operators establish new partnerships within the state’s tourism sector. This initiative aimed to educate the Indian travel trade on Western Australia’s unique tourism potential, boost collaboration, and enhance the destination’s visibility in the Indian market.
