Tourism Malaysia hosts an engagement session with Tamil Nadu travel agents

Tourism Malaysia’s Chennai office recently hosted an engagement session aimed at strengthening its collaboration with Tamil Nadu travel agents. The event featured a welcome address by Hishamuddin Mustafa, Director of Tourism Malaysia, Chennai, and brought together key stakeholders from the travel industry.

A significant highlight of the session was a presentation by Wan Chui Fong, Senior Sales Manager of A’Famosa Resort, who showcased the resort’s extensive offerings. She highlighted tailored packages for weddings, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and group travellers, positioning A’Famosa Resort as a premier destination for unique and memorable experiences. Her presentation resonated with the preferences of Indian travellers seeking diverse travel experiences.

Hishamuddin Mustafa expressed his appreciation for the support from Indian travel agents, which has played a crucial role in Malaysia welcoming over one million Indian tourist arrivals in 2024. Acknowledging this milestone, he emphasised the strong partnership between Indian travel trade stakeholders and Tourism Malaysia.

“As we look ahead to Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VMY2026), our ambitious target is to welcome 1.6 million Indian tourists and beyond. While Kuala Lumpur remains a beloved destination, we are strategically focusing on promoting new horizons in Sabah and Sarawak. These regions offer unparalleled experiences, from eco-tourism to cultural adventures, that perfectly cater to the evolving interests of Indian travellers,” stated Hishamuddin.
