The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi has announced the implementation of Thailand’s Electronic Visa (e-Visa) system in India, which will take effect from January 1, 2025.

From January 1, 2025, all visa applications must be submitted online via the official e-Visa website, https://www.thaievisa.go.th. Applications can be submitted either by the applicants themselves or through representatives, although the Royal Thai Embassy and Consulate-Generals will not be responsible for incomplete applications submitted via representatives.

Applicants will be required to pay the visa fee through offline payment options, details of which will be provided by the respective Embassy and Consulate-Generals. Visa fees are non-refundable under all circumstances. The processing time for visa applications is estimated to be approximately 14 working days from the date the visa fee receipt is issued.

The Embassy has provided deadlines for the current visa application system. For ordinary passport holders, applications will be accepted through designated visa processing companies until December 16, 2024. For diplomatic and official passport holders, applications will be accepted directly at the Embassy or Consulate-General until December 24, 2024.

The existing 60-day visa exemption for Indian ordinary passport holders traveling for tourism or short-term business purposes will remain effective until further notice.

Further details and updates regarding the e-Visa system will be announced by the Royal Thai Embassy and Consulate-Generals in due course.
