Telangana to host Miss World 2025 in May (2)

The world’s most prestigious beauty festival, Miss World, is set to return to India for its 72nd edition, with Telangana proudly hosting the global event in 2025. The festival spans 28 days from May 4th to May 31st, spread across various destinations in Telangana, a state with a rich legacy and modern vibe. The opening and closing ceremonies, including the grand finale, are scheduled in Hyderabad.

Following the grand success of the 71st Miss World, held in New Delhi and Mumbai, Maharashtra, Miss World moves to Telangana – where tradition meets innovation and beauty is celebrated in all forms. Today, Miss World stands as the most recognised and is the oldest-running beauty festival, championing diverse representations of beauty with a purpose, and promoting humanitarian causes worldwide.

India’s youngest state, Telangana has made rapid strides and giant leaps in the first decade of its birth. Today it stands out for its robust infrastructure and excellent connectivity, featuring one of the world’s best airports, a year-round pleasant climate, prestigious educational institutions, a thriving IT-enabled services sector, a global pharmaceutical hub with massive health infrastructure, and a bustling film industry.

Its reputation for safety and tourist friendliness, and a thriving international ecosystem, make it an ideal destination for tourists, both from India and across the globe.

The official announcement was made by Julia Morley CBE, Chairman and CEO, Miss World Limited, alongside Smita Sabharwal, Secretary to the Government of Telangana, Tourism, Culture, Heritage and Youth Affairs Department.

Julia Morley CBE, Chairman and CEO, Miss World Limited, expressed her enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to bring the 72nd Miss World Festival to Telangana, a state that beautifully represents its rich culture, innovation, and hospitality. Partnering with the Telangana government allows us to showcase its incredible heritage and dynamic growth to a global audience. This collaboration is not just about hosting the Miss World Festival; it’s about empowering communities, celebrating diversity, and making a lasting impact through our shared commitment to beauty with a purpose.”

Echoing this sentiment, Smita Sabharwal, Secretary to the Government of Telangana, Tourism, Culture, Heritage, and Youth Affairs Department, welcomed the Miss World Organization to Telangana, and stated that “Telangana is proud to announce that it will be hosting the 72nd Miss World 2025, welcoming the world to witness a land where beauty is not just what meets the eye; it is what resonates with its land, people, culture and traditions. Telangana is a place where every festival is a spectacle of joy, where every hand that crafts tell a story of skill and devotion—this is Telangana, a reflection of what true Beauty symbolises.”

She further added, “This platform will showcase the rich handloom legacy, spectacular destinations, scrumptious cuisine, art forms, and crafts of timeless Telangana.”

She concluded, “Hosting the 72nd Miss World Festival is to tell the world that Telangana is ready to showcase its spirit, its warmth, and its boundless potential.”
