Following the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI171, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran conveyed sorrow over the lives lost and those injured in the incident. Extending his condolences, he stated, “No words can adequately express the grief we feel at this moment. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones, and with those who have been injured.”
To support those affected, the Tata Group has announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of each individual who lost their lives in the tragedy. Additionally, the group has committed to covering the full medical expenses of the injured and ensuring they receive the necessary care and assistance.
As part of its extended relief efforts, Tata Group will also contribute to the development of the B J Medical College hostel, reaffirming its commitment to community welfare.
Chandrasekaran concluded, “We remain steadfast in standing with the affected families and communities during this unimaginable time.”
