The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) Tamilnadu chapter held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 10, 2024, at the Accord Metropolitan Hotel.
The evening began with a welcome speech by Chairman Jahir Hussain, setting the tone for a productive session. Following this, Secretary C.K. Raja presented the Secretary Report for the fiscal year 2023-24, outlining the activities and achievements of the federation. Treasurer P. V. Thomas then delivered a detailed Financial Report for the same period, providing insights into the financial health and performance of the association.
Adding to the excitement, Ravi Sharma, Editor and Publisher of Travel Trade Journal, the flagship magazine of Sampan Media, provided a briefing on the upcoming South India TRAVMART (SITM), set to take place from August 16-18, 2024, at the Accord Metropolitan Hotel. TTJ TRAVMART is a unique platform that creates cost-effective, hassle-free new business opportunities, connecting sellers with buyers of the host state.
Selvaraju Balakrishnan, a member from Coimbatore invited the members to the LUXURY TRAVEL SHOW, organised by the Travel Agents Association of Coimbatore (TAAC). This event, a first for South India, marks a major milestone for Coimbatore and is scheduled to be exhibited on August 3, 2024, at Le Meridien, Coimbatore.
The AGM also featured a presentation by Asego Travel Insurance, showcasing their newly introduced and unique products designed for the traveling public.
Additionally, officials from Salam Air announced the introduction of a new bi-weekly flight service from Chennai, which was celebrated with a raffle draw offering an air ticket, won by a fortunate member. Two other stay vouchers were also awarded to winners during the raffle.
The evening concluded with a dinner, providing members an opportunity to network and discuss future collaborations.
