The Department of Immigration and Emigration of Sri Lanka has announced the revocation of its earlier directive issued on October 13, 2025, which had made obtaining an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) mandatory for all short-stay visitors to the country for tourism and business purposes, effective October 15, 2025.
According to the latest notice, the implementation of the mandatory ETA requirement has been suspended until further notice. All ETA-related services and visa issuance procedures will continue to function under the same conditions that were in place prior to 15 October 2025, with no changes to the existing process.
