South Korea is set to launch its e-Arrival Card system on February 24, 2025, enabling inbound travellers to submit their entry details online before arriving in the country. This digital initiative aims to streamline the arrival process, replacing the traditional paper arrival card system, which will remain available until December 2025 before being phased out.
How the e-Arrival Card System Works
Under the new system, travellers can submit their arrival declaration form up to three days before their entry into Korea, following Korean Standard Time (KST). However, the submission will be invalid if the traveller does not enter Korea within 72 hours of completing the form.
The e-Arrival Card can be filled out via the official e-Arrival Card website, accessible on both PC and mobile devices. Travelers will need to provide the required entry information as per Korean immigration regulations.
Once submitted, travellers will have the option to download a PDF copy of their form, though presenting a physical or digital copy during immigration clearance is not mandatory for entry inspection.
Special Provisions for Minors and Group Submissions
For travellers under the age of 14, a family member or an accompanying adult must complete the form on their behalf. Additionally, the system allows a single submission for multiple travellers, making it more convenient for families and group travellers.
The new e-Arrival Card is part of South Korea’s efforts to enhance travel efficiency and improve border control measures. Travelers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new system to ensure a smooth entry process.
