City of Dreams Sri Lanka will officially open on August 2, 2025. A joint venture between John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH) and Melco Resorts & Entertainment, the integrated resort is a USD 1.2 billion mega-development, the largest private sector investment in Sri Lanka’s luxury lifestyle sector and the first of its kind in the region. This launch marks the completion of the final components of the project, including a world-class casino, the luxurious Nüwa hotel and a premium shopping mall.

Strategically located in the heart of Colombo, the integrated resort brings together world-class hospitality, upscale retail, immersive entertainment, and cutting-edge MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) infrastructure in one dynamic destination.

The integrated resort features a total of 800 rooms and suites, including the 687-room luxury hotel branded “Cinnamon Life,” which began operations in October 2024, and the ultra-luxurious 113-room “Nüwa” hotel under Melco’s flagship brand.

Designed to meet the growing demand for world-class business tourism, the resort offers expansive MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities capable of hosting large-scale global events and conventions.

Adding to its appeal is a state-of-the-art casino and entertainment zone, operated by Melco Resorts & Entertainment. Built to international luxury gaming standards, the casino is expected to be a key draw for both regional and international visitors.

Guests will also enjoy a premium shopping and lifestyle promenade, featuring a diverse mix of upscale retail outlets and global brands. This is complemented by a carefully curated selection of signature dining experiences led by internationally acclaimed chefs, offering a wide array of global and local cuisines. To complete the lifestyle offering, the resort includes immersive entertainment venues designed to host international performances and cultural showcases.

As City of Dreams expands its iconic brand into a vibrant new market, it capitalizes on Sri Lanka’s strategic location and the region’s growing tourism demand. By introducing global expertise in luxury hospitality and gaming, the resort is poised to elevate the standard and appeal of Sri Lanka’s tourism offerings.

Tourism Catalyst: positioned to drive a surge in international arrivals – particularly from South Asia and the region, establishing Colombo as a premier MICE destination.

Sustainable Development: designed with environmentally friendly technologies and a strong commitment to local art, culture, and community initiatives, reflecting responsible tourism

Economic Impact: Once fully operational, the development is expected to serve as a catalyst for national economic growth, enhance foreign exchange earnings and generate over 20,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
