Royal Jordanian rolls out 24-hour curated stopover program

Royal Jordanian Airlines, the national carrier of Jordan, has introduced a 24-Hour Premium Stopover Program, allowing transit passengers to convert layovers in Amman into short, curated cultural experiences. The initiative is available to travellers connecting onward to Europe, the Middle East, and North America, and includes tailored options for passengers originating from India.

The program offers access to special hotel rates through RJ Holidays at premium properties such as Fairmont Amman, InterContinental Amman, St. Regis Amman, and Mövenpick Dead Sea. Optional chauffeured airport–hotel transfers can also be arranged to facilitate smooth movement from Queen Alia International Airport.

In partnership with RJ Holidays, travellers can choose from a selection of enriching signature experiences, including a gourmet Levantine dining journey in Amman’s celebrated culinary district, a serene afternoon at the Dead Sea floating at the lowest point on Earth, a guided walk through the historic Citadel and Roman Theatre, and visits to artisan studios, perfumeries, and boutique handicraft ateliers.

For Indian passport holders flying on Royal Jordanian, the experience is supported by a visa-on-arrival facility, enabling a streamlined transit process.

Positioned as one of the Middle East’s most culturally layered capitals, Amman offers a blend of ancient heritage and contemporary lifestyle, and the airline’s new stopover program allows passengers to sample these elements without altering long-haul travel plans.

Royal Jordanian’s Chief Commercial Officer, Karim Makhlouf, said, “India is not just a key market for Royal Jordanian; it is a cultural partner with deep and longstanding ties to Jordan. With the 24-Hour Premium Stopover Program, we are offering Indian travellers an effortless gateway into the heart of Amman. Even a short stay can feel personal, luxurious, and meaningful.”

The initiative is expected to appeal particularly to Indian travellers flying onward to European, U.S., and GCC destinations, many of whom seek enriching stopover options without logistical complexity. With simplified entry formalities and a variety of curated experiences, the program offers value for both leisure and business travellers.
