The highly anticipated fifth edition of Riyadh Season launched in spectacular fashion on Saturday, October 12, 2024, with a star-studded opening ceremony at the Kingdom Arena. International artists Busta Rhymes, Ciara, and Missy Elliott took center stage, igniting the evening with dynamic performances. Adding to the excitement, the event featured a major boxing match, attracting global attention and setting the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable entertainment season.
The Riyadh Season 2024 has already drawn an impressive two million visitors, a testament to its growing appeal both locally and internationally. This milestone was announced by Advisor Turki bin Abdulmohsen AlAlshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), who expressed pride in the season’s overwhelming success. The event has rapidly become a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s expanding entertainment landscape, showcasing a blend of cultural celebrations and cutting-edge attractions.
This year’s Riyadh Season boasts five distinct zones, each offering unique experiences for visitors. These areas include Boulevard World, Kingdom Arena, Boulevard City, The Venue, and Al-Suwaidi Park. Notably, Boulevard World has undergone a 30 per cent expansion to cater to the increasing number of attendees, introducing new events and attractions from around the globe. The zone now features five additional sections representing Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Iran, Africa, and Courchevel, expanding the cultural diversity on offer. In total, Boulevard World spans 22 areas, hosting 300 restaurants and cafés, and more than 890 shops. Open daily from 4 pm to 1 am, it has become a focal point of the season’s activities.
A new highlight for 2024 is the “Saudi Arabia” zone within Boulevard World. Designed to showcase Saudi’s rich heritage and traditions, the zone offers visitors the chance to experience authentic Saudi hospitality, from local dishes and coffee to perfumes, incense, and handicrafts. In addition, fashion shows and cultural presentations by young Saudis allow guests to engage with the country’s diverse regional cultures and history. The architecture in this zone also reflects the beauty of Saudi’s landscapes and historical landmarks, adding a visually striking element to the visitor experience.
Meanwhile, Boulevard City is captivating guests with a range of innovative attractions, including immersive gaming experiences such as PUBG Mobile and Conan, alongside a wide variety of dining options. The area’s dancing fountain, which lights up the night with synchronized performances, adds a magical atmosphere, further enhancing the city’s appeal as a must-visit destination during the season.
