Radisson Hotel Group has announced its entry into Coorg with the signing of two properties, Purple Mist Resort and Spa Coorg and Purple Palms Resort and Spa, both to operate under the Radisson Individuals Premier brand.
The dual signing marks the Group’s strategic expansion into one of India’s most sought-after leisure destinations, known for its natural landscapes, coffee plantations and growing demand for experiential travel, weddings and corporate retreats.
Located off the Madikeri–Mysore Road, the two resorts offer connectivity to key feeder markets including Bengaluru, Mysore and Mangalore, with access via Kannur International Airport, Mysore Airport and Kempegowda International Airport. Their proximity to attractions such as Abbey Falls, Nagarhole National Park and surrounding coffee estates further enhances their appeal as drive-to leisure destinations.
Purple Mist Resort and Spa Coorg will be developed as a 102-room nature-led retreat, featuring standard rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, banquet facilities, a fitness centre and a spa. The resort is positioned to cater to leisure travellers as well as destination weddings and events.
Purple Palms Resort and Spa Coorg, a 78-room property, will be converted and repositioned under the same brand, offering restaurants, banquet and meeting spaces, along with wellness facilities. The operational property will provide immediate presence in the market while complementing the new development.
Together, the two resorts are expected to create a strong combined offering in Coorg, catering to a wide range of segments including leisure stays, social celebrations and corporate offsites.
Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said, “With this signing, we are entering Coorg with a differentiated approach that allows us to build meaningful scale in a high-demand leisure market. The dual-resort model enables us to create a strong combined offering, catering to both individual travellers and large-format events. As demand continues to evolve towards experiential and destination-led travel, developments like these allow us to strengthen our presence in emerging leisure markets while leveraging the flexibility of our Radisson Individuals Premier brand.”
“RHG’s advent to Coorg marks successful implementation of our strategy to spread across key business and leisure destinations of South India. A ready to open resort at a premium leisure destination accelerates our expansion plans by catering to all segments of market by furthering our outreach. The dual signing is also a strong value proposition for the ownership to capitalise on RHG’s brand repute and robust distribution system,” said Davashish Srivastava, Senior Director, Development, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.
N Viswanathan, Managing Partner, SLN Hotels and Resorts, said, “We are delighted to partner with Radisson Hotel Group for this landmark development in Coorg.
