Following the launch of Operation Sindoor, a military strike by Indian armed forces targeting nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), major Indian airlines have suspended flight operations to several northern cities until May 10, 2025.
IndiGo has cancelled over 165 flights due to government-imposed airspace restrictions. Affected airports include Amritsar, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Gwalior, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, Leh, Rajkot, and Srinagar. The cancellations are in effect until 05:29 hrs IST on May 10.
Similarly, Air India has suspended operations to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot. In an official statement, the airline confirmed the suspension would remain in place until 05:29 hrs IST on May 10, in line with aviation authority directives.
Air India also announced a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges or a full refund for passengers holding valid tickets during this period.
Passengers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
