Navi Mumbai International Airport conducts flight validation test

The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) marked a significant achievement by successfully conducting its first flight validation test. An IndiGo A320 aircraft landed on Runway 08/26, setting the stage for obtaining the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) aerodrome license, a crucial step towards operational readiness.

Arun Bansal, CEO of Adani Airport Holdings Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the milestone, stating, “The successful completion of the validation flight is a major milestone, bringing us closer to operationalising the airport while prioritising safety at every step.”

The event was attended by senior representatives from key aviation and regulatory bodies, including the DGCA, Airports Authority of India (AAI), Customs, Immigration, CISF, CIDCO, IMD, BCAS, and Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), among others. Their presence underscored the collaborative efforts in aligning NMIA with global aviation standards.

This brings NMIA closer to becoming a transformative hub for regional connectivity, poised to deliver world-class aviation facilities and significantly enhance India’s infrastructure and air travel capabilities.
