Mayoorakanth Sivalingam

Mayoorakanth Sivalingam has been appointed as Cluster Director of Sales, Courtyard by Marriott Madurai, and soon-to-be-launched Courtyard by Marriott Trichy. With a substantial experience in corporate real estate and tourism, Mayoorakanth also has over 15 years of experience in the hospitality sector.

Dynamic industries like hospitality and tourism go hand in hand. Only a few get a golden opportunity to explore, experiment and imbibe the essence of both sectors and serve its customers. He holds an experience with travel companies like Cox and Kings and DMC Leisure, prior to joining Marriott International.

Started his journey with Marriott in 2007 at Courtyard by Marriott Chennai, Mayoorakanth went on to become senior sales manager at Kochi Marriott Hotel and later associate director of sales at Fairfield by Marriott Visakhapatnam. After a stint as India Head for Sales & Operations at Isprout, the popular co-work space service provider, Mayoorakanth is thrilled to be back at Marriott where he truly belongs. Hailing from a family of restaurateurs in Trichy, he is back home doing what he loves most!

Mayoorakanth is a natural leader who firmly believes in teamwork and in bringing vibrant energy to the workplace. In his new role, he will be spearheading planning, development and implementing sales strategies in Madurai and Trichy markets.

Recalling his experience with Marriott, Mayoor says, “Marriott is the world’s largest hotel who has been consistently recognized as a top employer and is well known for its business ethics. It has always valued an associate’s efforts while taking care of them.”

On the personal front, he follows his passion for pets and gardening. He also expresses his fondness for bike rides. And if it’s a bike it’s got to be a Royal Enfield. When asked upon his return to base, Mayoor says, “I am excited to be back in my hometown after three decades. The city has emerged a lot in terms of size and economy compared with any other B tire cites. I am glad to be a part of the preopening team of Courtyard Trichy and I look forward to serving southern Tamil Nadu.”
