Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global have signed an agreement to develop three new luxury and premium hotels across Nepal and India, expanding Marriott’s presence in key urban and leisure destinations in South Asia. Scheduled to open by 2031, the projects will add nearly 450 rooms to Marriott’s regional portfolio.
The agreement includes the debut of The Ritz-Carlton in Nepal with The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu, alongside The Westin Kathmandu and JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri in India. The signing was attended by David Marriott, Chairman of the Board, Marriott International; Dr Binod K. Chaudhary, Chairman, CG Corp Global & CG Hospitality; Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director & CEO, CG Corp Global & CG Hospitality Global; Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International; and Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International.

The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu will mark the luxury brand’s debut in Nepal and is expected to feature 150 rooms, including 30 suites, along with five dining venues, The Ritz-Carlton Spa, an outdoor pool and over 1,100 square metres of meeting and event space. Located near Thamel and key cultural attractions, the hotel will be approximately five kilometres from Tribhuvan International Airport.
The Westin Kathmandu, located around seven kilometres from the airport, will feature 150 rooms and suites, three dining venues, a WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio, Heavenly Spa by Westin, rooftop pool and more than 700 square metres of event space.
In India, the JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri will bring the brand’s luxury wellness-focused offering to the gateway city of Northeast India. The hotel is planned with 150 rooms and suites, four dining venues, Spa by JW, outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre and approximately 1,500 square metres of banquet and event facilities. The property will be located about 10 kilometres from Bagdogra Airport.
