Markus Gloor elevated to Regional Director for Southeast Asia at Fusion Hotel Group

Markus Gloor, Regional Director for Southeast Asia, Fusion Hotel Group

Fusion Hotel Group has announced Markus Gloor’s promotion to Regional Director for Southeast Asia. This is a significant leadership appointment as the wellness-inspired luxury brand continues to expand in the region.

A Swiss national with over 30 years of experience in hospitality across Switzerland and Thailand, Markus has been an integral part of Fusion’s growth. Previously serving as Director of Operations in Thailand, he played a pivotal role in establishing GLOW Hotels and Resorts, joining in 2014 and overseeing its expansion before its merger with Fusion Hotel Group in 2021. Under his leadership, Fusion successfully launched Fusion Suites Phuket Patong and GLOW Bangkok Riverside in 2024, further strengthening its presence in Thailand.

In his new role, Markus will take on expanded responsibilities beyond Thailand and Vietnam, leading the opening and management of new properties in Southeast Asia. This aligns with Fusion’s strategic vision to expand into new markets, including Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, with an ambitious goal of reaching 50 properties by 2028.

“Markus brings a wealth of experience and skills, including a multi-disciplinary approach to operations and strategic business planning, as well as a strong focus on both guest service satisfaction and driving strong financial results,” said David Roberts, Chief Operating Officer, Fusion Hotel Group.

“As Regional Director, he will oversee our properties in Thailand, working closely with owners and general managers to ensure staff satisfaction, enhancing the guest experience, and meeting business goals while driving growth in Thailand and neighbouring countries,” David Roberts added.

Markus had been instrumental in building the Fusion and GLOW brands in Thailand, and that under his stewardship the Group expected to expand its footprint in Thailand and elsewhere this year, David said further.

“I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve as Regional Director for the Fusion Hotel Group,” said Markus. “This strategic move aligns with our commitment to growth and team expansion in Thailand, while exploring new markets like Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines, as we work towards reaching 50 properties by 2028.”
