Malaysia showcases culture and tourism at Visit Malaysia Carnival 2026 in New Delhi

The High Commission of Malaysia hosted the Visit Malaysia Carnival 2026 on April 4 at its premises in Chanakyapuri, bringing together members of the diplomatic corps, travel trade, and the wider Indian community.

Held in line with Visit Malaysia Year 2026, the event served as a platform to showcase Malaysia’s cultural diversity, culinary traditions, and tourism offerings, while also reflecting the strengthening engagement between India and Malaysia across tourism and allied sectors.Malaysia

The carnival featured cultural performances, live cooking demonstrations, and interactive showcases spanning tourism, education, and business. Visitors also experienced Malaysian cuisine and tropical produce, offering an immersive introduction to the destination.

Dato’ Muzafar Shah Mustafa, High Commissioner of Malaysia in India, said the initiative reflects the strong people-to-people ties between the two countries. “Through culture, cuisine, and shared experiences, we aim to bring Malaysia closer to our friends in India and invite them to explore the destination during Visit Malaysia Year 2026,” he said.

Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali, Director, Tourism Malaysia – New Delhi, noted that the event also aimed to position Malaysia as a preferred destination for Indian travellers. “With Visit Malaysia Year 2026, we look forward to welcoming more Indian visitors to experience Malaysia’s nature, islands, shopping, cuisine, and multicultural appeal,” he said.

The event also saw participation from key industry stakeholders, including airline partners such as Malaysia Airlines and Batik Air Malaysia, underscoring the importance of connectivity in supporting tourism growth.
