Berlin-based specialist tour operator Lernidee Trains & Cruises has expanded its presence in India through an exclusive partnership with Mumbai-based Namaste Tourism. The collaboration aims to introduce Indian travellers to Lernidee’s portfolio of rail journeys, small-ship expeditions and immersive travel experiences across destinations beyond conventional tourism routes.
A key focus of the partnership will be the iconic Orient Silk Road Express, operated in collaboration with the Uzbek State Railways. The rail journey traverses the historic Silk Road through Central Asia, covering destinations across Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The partnership will also promote Lernidee’s boutique river cruises on the Upper Mekong in Laos. Operated through the company’s own fleet, including the Mekong Sun, Mekong Pearl and Mekong Star, these cruises explore remote regions inaccessible to larger vessels, offering an intimate and immersive travel experience.
In addition, Indian travellers will gain access to Lernidee’s international rail portfolio, including African rail safaris aboard the African Explorer in Southern Africa, as well as scenic rail journeys through Switzerland aboard the Alpengold. The company’s globally recognised guided e-bike journeys will also form part of the offering.
