Khajornrit Khwanmongkol, Director, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), New Delhi Office

Khajornrit Khwanmongkol has been appointed as Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) New Delhi Office.

A senior executive with over 22 years of experience at TAT, Khajornrit brings extensive expertise in international tourism marketing, destination management and sustainable tourism development. In his new role, he will oversee TAT’s operations in the Indian market, strengthening bilateral tourism ties and enhancing Thailand’s positioning among Indian travellers.

Throughout his career, Khajornrit has played a key role in translating Thailand’s national tourism policies into impactful international strategies. He has managed Thailand’s participation at major global trade platforms, including ITB Berlin, Tourism EXPO Japan and Floriade in the Netherlands. Domestically, he has served as Director of the Southern Market Division and Deputy Director for the Northeastern Region, contributing to regional tourism growth initiatives.

His core areas of expertise include international marketing and cross-sector partnerships, sustainable and responsible tourism advocacy under Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model, and the promotion of low-carbon tourism practices aimed at delivering economic benefits to local communities while safeguarding natural resources.

Khajornrit has also contributed to crisis and quality management efforts, serving as a working committee member for the Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration (SHA) initiative, which elevated industry standards to meet global safety benchmarks. Additionally, he has led high-level media and strategic communication initiatives, including documentary collaborations with BBC Television to enhance Thailand’s global tourism image.

His leadership is marked by a strong commitment to sustainable economic growth and reinforcing Thailand’s position as a world-class tourism destination in key international markets.
