The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) successfully hosted a networking evening on March 26, 2025, at The Leela Palace, New Delhi, bringing together key members of India’s travel trade fraternity and prominent media representatives. The event aimed to strengthen partnerships and build deeper engagement with the Indian market by showcasing Jamaica’s rich culture, hospitality, and diverse travel offerings.
The evening offered guests an immersive experience into Jamaica’s world-famous vibe, from its scenic landscapes and adventure opportunities to its authentic cultural flair. Attendees enjoyed informative sessions, interactive activities, and the unmistakable warmth of Jamaican hospitality.
Stacian Virtue, Senior Business Development Officer at the Jamaica Tourist Board, joined the evening virtually. She delivered a comprehensive presentation on the island nation’s tourism appeal, including its beaches, culinary delights, adventure tourism, and vibrant music and cultural heritage. She also spoke about the ease of travel to Jamaica and its readiness to welcome Indian travellers with open arms.
In her presentation, Virtue also announced the launch of JTB’s online training program for Indian travel agents. The program is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and destination insights, helping agents better promote Jamaica while gaining access to exclusive resources, promotional tools, and incentives. This training initiative empowers Indian travel advisors with the expertise needed to confidently position Jamaica as a bucket-list destination for Indian holidaymakers.
Harjit Singh, Founder of Twist of Travel, shared his personal experiences of exploring Jamaica. He offered practical insights on the island’s offeringsand the kind of itineraries that would appeal to the Indian traveller.
The evening also featured a light-hearted Jamaican slang quiz, where participants matched Jamaican words to common English phrases, adding a fun cultural twist to the event. Twenty lucky winners walked away with exciting prizes, rounding off the evening with smiles and laughter.
