The Embassy of Italy in New Delhi has announced a temporary operational downtime of the VIS IT system due to a scheduled technical intervention. The system will be unavailable from 10:30 pm IST (6:00 pm Rome time, CET) on February 12, 2026, until 4:30 am IST (12:00 am Rome time, CET) on February 18, 2026.
During this period, the submission and processing of visa applications, as well as the issuance of entry visas, will be temporarily suspended. The downtime will impact operations at the Visa Office of the Embassy of Italy in New Delhi, along with visa application centres operated by VFS Global.
The embassy said, “To minimize inconvenience to users, appointments already scheduled during the affected period will be rescheduled to the days immediately before or after the downtime, with due consideration given to priority cases and urgent situations.”
