India and Albania are expanding cooperation in infrastructure, renewable energy, healthcare, tourism, technology, and pharmaceuticals, reinforcing their growing bilateral ties. Dr. Olta Manjani, Albania’s Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, highlighted these opportunities during an address at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in New Delhi.

Speaking alongside Dikshu C. Kukreja, Honorary Consul General of Albania in India, Manjani welcomed India’s recent decision to open a resident Mission in Tirana, saying, “We express our satisfaction regarding the decision of the Indian government to open a resident Mission in Tirana recently, and we do believe that this would invigorate and deepen the cooperation between our two countries.” She also announced that Albania plans to reopen its Diplomatic Mission in New Delhi in 2025, which was previously closed due to budget constraints.

With Albania’s tourism sector booming, Manjani emphasized the potential for attracting more Indian tourists, noting a 35.7 per cent increase in 2023. “The establishment of direct air routes between Tirana and New Delhi would significantly boost tourism exchanges,” she said.

Kukreja echoed the sentiment, stating, “India and Albania share deep cultural and economic connections, and we are committed to exploring new avenues that will benefit both nations. Our economies have a natural synergy that can help unlock immense growth opportunities.”
