Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of Taj Dharamshala, a brownfield luxury hotel project in Himachal Pradesh with potential for future expansion. The signing further strengthens IHCL’s presence in one of India’s fastest-growing leisure destinations.
Commenting on the development, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said, “Shaped by its spiritual significance and evolving tourism demand, Dharamshala attracts a diverse mix of travellers. The 105-key Taj Dharamshala offers sweeping views of the valley and the snow-capped Dhauladhar range. Designed to reflect the charm and character of the hills, the heritage wing, historically known as White Haven Estate, which served as the Viceroy’s summer residence in the late 1800s, will be restored. The hotel features an all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, a bar and a lobby lounge. Guests can unwind at the indoor temperature-controlled swimming pool, gym or the signature J Wellness Circle spa. For events and social gatherings, the hotel offers a banquet hall, a terrace, pre-function spaces, and well-equipped meeting rooms.

With the signing of Taj Dharamshala, IHCL will have a portfolio of 27 hotels in Himachal Pradesh, including 15 operational properties and 12 under development, reinforcing the company’s continued focus on expanding its luxury and leisure footprint across India’s key tourism destinations.
