Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed a new Taj Mohali in Punjab, marking a greenfield development for the brand in the region.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said, “Mohali’s emergence as a thriving IT and commercial centre is a key growth market in Punjab. This, coupled with the state’s increasing appeal as a preferred destination for weddings and social events, aligns with our strategy to expand in such high-potential markets.”
The 225-key Taj Mohali will offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding greenery. Planned facilities include an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, and a specialty restaurant. Leisure and wellness offerings will comprise a swimming pool, gym, health club, and the brand’s signature J Wellness Circle. The hotel will also feature over 26,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space, making it the largest event venue in the region, suited for weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings.
Mohali, a planned city in Punjab, is known for its modern infrastructure and is home to several IT companies, educational institutions and sports facilities.
With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have 14 hotels in Punjab, including 7 under development.
