The Uttar Pradesh Chapter of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), under the leadership of Chairman Prateek Hira, organised a full-day certified workshop on AI Applications for Tourism Management on March 30, 2026, at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) campus, with participation from 50 IATO members.
The inaugural session was attended by Prof. Sushma Ghildiyal, Dean, Faculty of Arts, BHU, as Chief Guest, while Pawas Parsoon, Assistant Director, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, was present as Guest of Honour.
The workshop was led by AI expert Rocky Jagtiani, focusing on practical applications of artificial intelligence in tourism, including its role in enhancing operations, customer engagement, and business growth.
The programme was coordinated by Prof. Praveen Singh Tana on behalf of BHU. Certificates of participation were presented by Prof. Jyoti Rohila Rana, Head, Department of Tourism Studies, BHU; P. Vijay Sarthi, EC Member, IATO; and Subhash Kapoor, President, Varanasi Tourism Guild.
Speaking on the occasion, Prateek Hira said, “As technology continues to evolve, tourism professionals must understand and harness AI to remain relevant, competitive, and future-ready in an increasingly digital travel ecosystem.”
