Foreign visitors to Thailand required to fill in digital TM6 Immigration Form from May 1

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports in Thailand is set to implement the mandatory digital TM6 immigration form for all foreign arrivals, effective May 1, 2025, according to local media reports.

The TM6 immigration forms were temporarily suspended on April 15, 2024. As this suspension period ends on April 30, 2025, a digital version of the TM6 form will replace the paper cards, according to a statement from the ministry. This shift is aimed at improving the tracking of tourists during their stay in Thailand, thereby enhancing safety and confidence among visitors.

The digital TM6 form will be required for all foreign travellers entering or departing Thailand via air, land, or sea. This includes visitors from visa-exempt countries. Thai passport holders, however, are exempt from completing the form. The online TM6 will be free of charge and will require travellers to submit personal and travel details, such as passport information and their address in Thailand.

Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Mongkon Wimonrat, confirmed the transition on January 21 following discussions with Thailand’s immigration bureau. Tourism Ministry Chief Natthriya Thaweevong highlighted that the digital form is part of an ongoing effort to improve tourist tracking and management during their visit.

A source within the Ministry of Tourism and Sports suggested that the rollout of the digital TM6 might delay the implementation of the 300-baht ($9) tourism fee, according to the Bangkok Post.

The ministry anticipates that the new system will streamline the immigration process while providing better data for managing Thailand’s tourism industry.
