Fareportal India has partnered with healthcare-focused non-profit NGO Hamari Udaan to provide critically needed medical infrastructure for health centers in Tier 2 cities in India.
Fareportal’s donation has been used to purchase 2 ABG machines, 14 central monitors, 10 ECG machines, 50 Nebulizers and other medical equipment for nine government health centers including 3 Community Health Centers and 3 maternity centers located in rural areas, a tertiary District Hospital and 2 Civil Hospitals. Together, these centers cater to a population of around 240,000 people.
Myrelle Machado, Vice President and India CFO at Fareportal, comments, “As Hamari Udaan is committed to filling in the gaps in available medical care, they are the perfect partner to further our ongoing initiatives of providing care and support to those affected by COVID-19.” She continues, “Our initial efforts were focused on our employees and their families. With this partnership, we are expanding our contribution to aid those in need in the community-at-large.”
Sanjay Dodrajka, Trustee, Hamari Udaan, comments, “Hamari Udaan is happy to partner with Fareportal in this critical initiative of providing medical equipment to support health centers in the Tier 2 cities. While we hope that India avoids the third wave of COVID, we are going to prepare for it. At the same time, we will strive to ensure that medical infrastructure in health centers is upgraded to meet not only COVID, but other challenges as well.”
In recent months, Fareportal India has held several vaccine camps to ensure vaccination availability to the company’s employees and their families and plans additional community outreach during the remainder of the year.
