RARE India, a community of some of the finest conscious luxury boutique hotels, palace stays, wildlife lodges, homestays and retreats in the Indian subcontinent, will be hosting the Discover RARE 2022 event at the Taj MG Road in Bengaluru on 28th July and at the ITC Grand Central in Lower Parel in Mumbai on 4th August. The two events will bring together some of the hoteliers from the RARE Community as well as travel designers and tour operators from the major inbound and domestic travel companies in the two regions under one roof with the objective of initiating a dialogue about destinations and sustainable travel options available within the Community.

24 out of over 100 privately-owned, stand-alone, conscious luxury hospitality brands of the RARE Community will participate in the Discover RARE 2022 Mumbai edition and 22 brands will be present at the Bengaluru event. Through these events, the participating hoteliers will strive to create awareness among the travel agent community about sustainable travel that places a great emphasis on community engagement and endeavours to preserve and protect the planet.

Regarding the upcoming events, Shoba Mohan, Founder, RARE India, said, “Increasingly, our small pop ups help us expand our tribe of the RARE hoteliers and travel agent supporters. The idea is to have intimate conversations and focus on the product and how tour operators can sell efficiently. One of the things RARE strives to do is building value for the hotel as well as the agencies so that we can sell on value and shift away from the malaise of discounting.”

The properties that will participate in the Discover RARE 2022 Bengaluru event include Svatma, TUTC, Wild Mahseer, Windermere Retreats, Rann Riders by Kaafila, Utsav Camp Sariska, The Claridges, Shreyas Yoga Retreat, Lchang Nang, MRS Hotels, Kipling Camp, BrijRama Palace, Dvara Siruvani, The Grand Dragon Ladakh, Haveli Dharampura, Jehan Numa Wilderness, Malabar Escapes, Premkunj, Shahpura Bagh, Grand Hotel D’Europe, Glenburn and Sinna Dorai’s Bungalows.

The hotel brands from the RARE Community that will be present at Discover RARE 2022 Mumbai Edition include MRS Hotels, Svatma, TUTC, Wild Mahseer, Windermere Retreats, Rann Riders by Kaafila, Utsav Camp Sariska, The Claridges, House of Rohet, Lchang Nang, RAAS, Shreyas Yoga Retreat, Stok Palace Heritage Hotel, BrijRama Palace, Dvara Siruvani, The Grand Dragon Ladakh, Haveli Dharampura, Jehan Numa Wilderness, Malabar House, Premkunj, Shahpura Bagh, Grand Hotel D’Europe, Glenburn and Citrus County Hoshiarpur.

According to Shobhana Jain, Head of Sustainability, RARE India, “When RARE began in 2004, the seeds of ‘Conscious Travel’ were unknowingly sown. As this idea unravelled itself, the ethos veered toward ensuring that the hotel partners that came on board not just subscribed to this philosophy, but put in an effort to make it a continuous evolving journey. In 2019, the narrative for RARE pivoted to mindful, sustainable, responsible and regenerative travel and since then every hotel is encouraged to perform a self-audit based on the ten RARE touchstones. This also serves as the talking point at events such as Discover RARE.”
