The Nepal Tourism Board has announced the reappointment of Deepak Raj Joshi as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Joshi, who previously served as CEO from December 2015 to January 2020, returns for a second tenure, taking on the responsibility once again following a thorough selection process.

The decision to reappoint Joshi was made during a meeting of the Board of Directors on Thursday. He was one of three candidates shortlisted for the position by a three-member subcommittee headed by Indu Ghimire, joint secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. The other candidates considered were former CEO Dhananjaya Regmi and Gyaneshwar Singh Mahato, both of whom were selected from a pool of 14 applicants.

The CEO position had been vacant since January 28, 2024, following the completion of Regmi’s tenure.
